ILSUDH2 Turns 3…and things change at 3

Here we are.  2013 is upon us and the Earth still orbits the sun from a distance of about 100 million miles.  The end of the world as we knew it has come and gone (again), yet nothing feels much different.  With the exception of the millions who died (as happens every year), we are all still here.  It was a good year in many ways and it was an awful year in many ways, as most years are.  And now that we’re at the end, ILSUDH2 is turning 3 years old.  What started out as an e-mail distribution list with about 10 people has grown into a blog with thousands of viewers.  Unfortunately, 2012 will be the last year that ILSUDH2 exists in its current format.

As you have probably noticed, I have been unable to keep up with things as much as I used to.  Grouping album recommendations into monthly columns and cutting back on interviews and ‘newsworthy’ posts in favor of concentrating on live show reviews was the first step in dividing my time between my “music” life and my “real” life, but in this new world (which feels just like the one we left behind), there are still only 24 hours in each day, and that is just not enough.

ILSUDH2 will still exist in 2013.  I am not pulling the site down, but posts will come when they come.  The monthly ‘Recommended Releases’ and ‘Approved Shows’ posts are over.  I will continue to post on Facebook as things come up, and I will review shows and recommend albums as time permits, but that will be the extent of it.  Hopefully these periodic posts will be enough to keep you stopping by once in awhile.  You are always welcome.

Thanks to everyone who has been a part of ILSUDH2 these last few years.  Don’t think of this as goodbye, think of it as a roommate who is moving to another part of the city — we’ll still hang out, it just won’t be every day.
