1999 – 2001: 2002 – 2011
In late ’99 / early ’00 I dedicated one of my computers to act as a Napster server, thereby assisting with the death of the music industry as we knew it. So, depending on your opinion of where we are today, I can either say ‘I’m sorry’ or ‘you’re welcome’. Napster hasn’t been a relevant entity is almost a decade, but what it accomplished in it’s two years as a ‘rebellious force to be reckoned with’ will not die with the Napster name. Rhapsody can pull the plug and bury Sean Parker and Shawn Fanning‘s code, but it’s legacy will live on forever.
