Austin City Limits Presents The National

PBS aired Austin City Limits with The National and Band of Horses a few nights ago and I missed it.  In fact, we were flipping through stations and caught the last half of About Today before realizing it was the last song.  Searching the listing for a time it was going to re-air turned up nothing.  The interview section that followed was pretty entertaining though, with Matt Berninger talking about how he thought High Violet was a humorous album until he heard to the final mix, then he realized it was dark…being reminded that two of the songs are Sorrow and Terrible Love.

We watched part of the Band of Horses set, but to be honest they have lost their appeal for me.  I remember the first time I saw them in Chicago 3 or 4 years ago and they blew my mind, but recently they have become something I expect to hear at my mother’s house, where the Adult Alternative cable station is always playing.

Now you can catch the full episode online.
