Aquarium Drunkard motivates mixtaping

A friend of mine has been pushing me to start including mixtapes on ILSUDH2 for the past year and as much as the idea has appealed to me, I have been intimidated by how much time it will take.  In high school I remember making real, cassette-based mixtapes and the process was arduous to say the least.

Posting songs is easy, but putting them together in an order that flows, that makes sense, that tells a story…that’s a puzzle that takes time and effort and can lead to more frustration on the creator’s part than it does pleasure on the listener’s.

But it’s a new year and I’m going to tackle the task.  In the next couple weeks I will be starting a new section called ‘from the basement‘.  It will be a monthly installment of mixtapes.  Please be patient with me in the beginning while I channel that ‘high speed dubbing’ kid I used to be.

In the meantime, check out the newest mixtape from my favorite mixtape series, Aquarium Drunkard.  This series is based on the Ghost Capital blog and includes music mined from ‘the secret shafts of psych, folk, blues and beyond’.
