Lilith Coming Back This Year

I will probably be made fun of in 2010 just as much as I was made fun of in ’97 and ’98 for attending the all-female Lilith Fair.  I will probably care even less than I did back then.  Back then it was Sara McLachlan, Tracy Chapman and Jewel I was interested in.  My friends just didn’t get it.  But go back and listen to Fumbling Towards Ecstasy, Tracy Chapman or Pieces of Me and tell me those are not some talented women!  Even if this isn’t you’re type of music, you can’t deny those voices.

This year McLachlan is bring back this traveling festival.  While her material of late might not be up to par with her earlier stuff (ok, it sucks), she still seems to have some pull in the industry.  The line-up this year blows away anything she could have put together over a decade ago.

Emmylou Harris, Loretta Lynn, Beth Orton, Sheryl Crow, Tegan & Sara, Erykah Badu, Metric, Gossip, Mary J. Blige, Heart, Jill Scott, Norah Jones, Cat Power, Miranda Lambert, Brandi Carlile, Sugarland and of course, Sarah herself.  Oh, Indigo Girls will be there too…how could they not be? (and that’s just a partial line-up of the main stage!)

So once again, even if this isn’t your dream lineup, if you can’t find something to like here, you probably just don’t like music.
